Day 10 – Bella from Trussville, AL. Pet Parents: Meredith & Tom Maynard

When Tom and Meredith Maynard walked into PetSmart one day, they were only planning on buying a toy for their dachshund, B.B. What they ended up leaving with was Bella, a six-year-old terrier mix. As soon as Meredith saw Bella up for adoption, she knew she wasn’t leaving without her, especially once she realized her backstory. Only one month earlier, Bella had been rescued from a puppy mill near Pell City, Ala., where she lived in a rabbit cage in sweltering heat every day. At the time of her rescue, Bella was so dirty that volunteers didn’t even know her fur was white until her first bath. Now, Bella belongs to pet parents who love her unconditionally. Her fur-sister, B.B., is also happy to have a new friend in the house.

“She is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever owned. I’m so glad we accidentally walked in to PetSmart that day. We got lucky,” Meredith said.
