Pet adoption clinic planned at Lake George hockey tournament

LAKE GEORGE — A pet adoption clinic will be held Saturday at Lake George Forum as the Lake George Fighting Spirit hockey team hosts its league's championship tournament.

Adirondack Save-A-Stray and the Friends of Phoebe rescue group will be on hand offering pets for adoption. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Save-A-Stray will be on hand until 2:30 p.m.

There will also be educational displays and Queensbury Animal Control Officer Jim Fitzgerald will be at the Forum offering a bite prevention program. The event is free.

The Fighting Spirit, a junior A hockey team, will host the Northern States Junior Hockey League championship this weekend. Games start Friday afternoon and run through Sunday evening.
