 Feb 16, Mar 16, and Apr 20, 12:30 – 1:45 PM Canine Basics Workshops. The classes are packed with practical tips for stress-free living with your dog. Get the basics on handling  and communicating with your canine in this two-hour class. All human family members welcome! Training works best when everyone in your family understands commands and process. $15 per dog for SPCA Tampa Bay & Pinellas County Animal Services Adopters $25 per dog for the general public.

Tues, Feb 26, 6:30 – 8:00 PM Grassroots Meeting for Animals, Animal Advocacy Workshop. The Humane Society of the United States and GREY2K invite SPCA members, supporters, and other animal advocates to join them at the SPCA Tampa Bay to discuss current issues and learn what you can do to advance the cause of animal protection in Florida.
Kate MacFall, Florida State Director for the HSUS, and Carey Theil, Executive Director of GREY2K USA, will share  tips for effective citizen advocacy and talk about upcoming legislative efforts for the 2013 session. If you are concerned about animal welfare and creating a more compassionate Florida, you should attend this informative and motivational meeting to learn how you can help. There will be a briefing with tips for citizen lobbying, and an overview of pending animal legislation that will prepare you to advocate for policies that will curb and end egregious acts of cruelty.
