With the Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center at capacity for adult cats, Director Doug Brightwell is asking the public to “Have a Heart.”

The shelter is issuing a “Have a Heart” Valentine’s Day challenge, urging the community to adopt a cat before the holiday — and they are free.

“We have a variety of colors, ages and breeds to choose from,” Brightwell said. “Some cats have been with us for months, just waiting for the right person to come along and take them home.”

Brightwell added that all animals adopted from the shelter are already spayed or neutered, and have received all immunizations and vaccinations. “We will even microchip the cat and provide a cat carrier for the ride home,” he said. “Plus, as added incentive, if you adopt during the ‘Have a Heart’ Challenge, we will waive the normal cat adoption fee of $45 for our adult cats.”
