Those at PAWS are inviting people to spend Valentine’s Day with someone they love — fellow animal lovers.
There are plenty of ways to show love for furry friends this Valentine’s Day, from attending the upcoming fundraiser, to donating an item for the silent auction, to supporting PAWS’ many programs.
PAWS Humane Society’s Annual Fur Ball Fundraiser Dinner Dance will be held on Feb. 9 at Giovanni’s Restaurant and Convention Center, 610 N. Bell School Road, Rockford. Cocktails will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. with music by ‘2ND City Chorus.’ Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. and dancing to the band, ‘Can’t Touch This,’ will be from 9 p.m.-12 a.m., according to event co-chair Kris Partington.
Reservations are needed by Jan. 31. People can order e-ticket reservations at www.PAWSHS.org or call 815-299-PAWS for information. PAWS Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) exempt nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
“We ask for your continued support as we head into the New Year in making a greater positive impact in animal welfare,” said event co-char Kris Partington.
This fundraising gala will benefit animals in and around the community through rescue, care, adoption and education efforts. Founded in 1988, PAWS Humane Society is a local, non-profit charitable animal welfare organization. PAWS was formed as a service organization to help animals in need.
“Since there were already other animal shelters in the area, it was decided that we could better serve the animals by dealing directly with their problems and needs,” Partington said.
The cost to attend is $65 per person or $110 per couple and includes entertainment, dinner, and dancing. Included in the evening of fun will be raffles, silent auctions, and live auctions. For more information, visit www.PAWSHS.org or call 815-299-7297.
Those who can’t make the dinner dance are invited to help the suffering of animals in Winnebago County by making donations or becoming volunteers for PAWS many programs.
