Pets of the Week: Spunky ‘Chiweenie,’ Rascally Rabbit

DuPage County Animal Care and Control

Georgia came to the shelter from an area breeder that couldn’t sell her. She was adopted out once, but that owner returned her because they didn’t have time to train a puppy. She is a 6 month old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/dachshund mix) who is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Georgia is looking for a home that will take the time to work with a puppy. She has a lot of energy and loves to play. She would do best in a home with children over 14 years of age due to her puppy mouthiness. If you’re into cute puppies and have an interest in dog training Georgia might be the pooch for you!

Milo came to DCACC because his owner couldn’t take care of him. Rabbits can be difficult to care for and require a lot of time out of their cage. Due to that, many owners become overwhelmed. Rabbits are the 3rd most surrendered animal in the shelter. The staff and volunteers think Milo is a sweetheart. He is super friendly and very playful. Everyone loves to pet him because his fur is soft like velvet. Currently Milo is being fostered by All Pet Pantry in Lisle. If you are interested in Milo just HOP on over to All Pet Pantry and meet him today!

Adoption fees at DuPage County Animal Care and Control are $100 for dogs. Cat adoption fees are $50. Adoption fees include the fee for the pet, the shots, microchip and registration. Other animals are available at the shelter, including rabbits and guinea pigs.
