The Dearborn Animal Shelter has many adoptable animals in its care as the holiday season moves into full swing.
Each year, the holidays can also be a peak adoption season as more families seek to bring a new pet family member into their homes. To help make this season a special giving one, the shelter encourages considering adopting a homeless animal as that new pet.
As Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter Executive Director Elaine Greene said, “Adopting a homeless animal as your new pet family member is a gift that gives, for a lifetime. These pets give back the gift of love each and every day. Adopters tell us that it is one of the most rewarding experiences of their lives when they open their home to a rescued animal from the shelter”.
Adoption is just one of the ways that someone can give this time of year. The Shelter also offers many volunteer opportunities, where a gift of time can be invaluable for the participant and the animals. If a virtual experience is more desirable, donation support is one of the most vital ways to give as the shelter is in the midst of a Holiday Fund Drive.
