The Pocatello Animal Shelter and the Bannock Humane Society are joining the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA®) and Subaru of America for Subaru’s annual year-end “Share the Love” campaign and celebration. As part of this national effort, the Shelter, Humane Society and Phil Meador Subaru have teamed up to create an off-site adoption event December 8, 2012 at Phil Meador Subaru, 1540 Yellowstone Avenue, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
“Share the Love” gives new car buyers and leasees the opportunity to donate $250 to one of five charities, including the ASPCA. One hundred percent of the ASPCA’s “Share the Love” donation is targeted for distribution as grants to animal welfare organizations in all 50 states. The Shelter is pleased to be a recipient of one of these grants.
“Every year the Pocatello Animal Shelter euthanizes many great animals, because we run out of time to find them a home,” said Mary Remer, Animal Services Director. “This event is a unique way for us to show the public what great animals we have. It will also allow families to save a life and find a new friend!”
Citizens are invited to stop by Phil Meador Subaru December 8 to adopt a cat or dog from the Shelter or Humane Society. Adoptions are being offered for the reduced rates of $35 for cats and $50 for dogs thanks to support from the Friends of the Animal Shelter and the Bannock Humane Society. The adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, licensing, microchipping and a special gift.
