Friends of Jacksonville Animals is looking for volunteers for the next mega adoption event at the fairgrounds.
The event, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, will be open from 10 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. each day. The goal is to find homes fro 1,000 dogs and cats.
The event needs volunteers for event set-up, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 29, and 7 a.m. to noon each day of the event. Two shifts each day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., are available for greeters and animal handlers. Event floaters, individuals who will restock supplies and clean, will be needed noon to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dog walkers are needed Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 only, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The overnight safety team is need from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Volunteers will also be needed to tear down the event 9 a.m. to noon, Dec. 3.
Background checks are not required, according to the newsletter.
The fairgrounds are located at 510 Fairgrounds Place, near Everbank Field and the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
