Celebrity inspiration and support of new concept for pet adoption in Ocala

On November 13, 2012, the Bleu Biscuit pet boutique, café, dog park and adoption center was officially opened in Ocala with a ribbon cutting ceremony, performed by Kelly Preston, Ella Travolta, Mayor Kent Guinn, Bleu Biscuit owner Russell W. Faber; and the Humane Society of Marion County (HSMC) president Bob Wilson, executive director Bruce Fishalow and director of finance Mary Wrye.

The party also included HSMC staff and board members, including the city’s Chief of Police Greg Graham; and the newly formed Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP), lead by Felecia Brather, which provided the first use of its ceremonial scissors and ribbon.

Bleu Biscuit spokesperson, Lisa Lombardo of Creative Management Group (CMG), was delighted to be supporting the cause and explained the Bleu Biscuit concept is simple yet profound: Providing a selection of natural pet foods and unique products in a café environment, including a dog park, where patrons may also adopt dogs and cats from HSMC.
