$9 for 9 Lives – Cat Adoption Event

PAWS will be participating in the “$9 for 9 Lives” program sponsored by Best Friends Animal Sanctuary of Utah.

For 9 days in November (Nov 10 through the 18th) you can adopt a cat 9 months of age or older for $9. The event is designed to help adult cats find new, loving homes to call their own as adult cats are often overlooked by adopters seeking to adopt kittens.

PAWS’ regular adoption fee of $100 for cats will be reduced to $9 and all adopters will receive a goody bag of items including food and toys to help your new friend start off on the right paw.

There are many benefits to adopting adult cats. You have a better sense of the cat’s personality, which is helpful in determining if the cat you select will be a good match for your household and lifestyle. They make wonderful companions for senior citizens and are often a better fit for homes with young children who may not understand how fragile kittens are. They are already litterbox trained and less rambunctious then young kittens.

PAWS currently has more than 70 adult cats available for adoption – everything from young adults who range in age from 9 months to a few years old as well as special needs and senior pets. All cats adopted under the “$9 for 9 Lives” program are already spayed or neutered, are current on their vaccines, have been tested for FIV/FeLV and are microchipped. Many of the cats currently at PAWS can be seen on PAWS’ website at: http://www.pawsct.org/catgallery.php.

All adopters are required to complete an adoption application prior to adopting and are encouraged to complete the application online at: http://www.pawsct.org/catapp.php
