More than hope for homeless animals in Crystal River, Florida

On Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Crystal River, Fla., a large crowd gathered at Burke’s of Ireland for a celebrity bar tender event, to benefit local dog rescue organizations. The 3rd Annual Hope for Homeless Animals was supported by local veterinarians Dr. Tammy Barron, of Plantation Animal Clinic, and Dr. Wade Phillips, of Lecanto Veterinary Hospital, who showed their alternate prowess pulling pints for tips.

Doug Nicholson gave his time and talent to perform live music, while a long line of individuals perused the amazing array of items in the silent auction. One of the most popular and top ticket elements was presented live by one of the founding contributors, Joanne Bartell. She brought two kittens of the Bengal cats she breeds, one of which will be an auction prize, “…in a few weeks time as they are much too young now,” confirmed Bartell.
