Beginning this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and continuing on Nov. 3 and 10, Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary, 27 Twin Sisters Creek Road, Arenas Valley, will be offering Saturday Adopt-A-Thons as a way for families and individuals to meet and spend time with their dogs available for adoption. There will be free hot dogs for kids, rock painting, and the Puppy Dog Ranch Re-Tail store will be open for those who want to purchase dog related tee-shirts, cards and gift items. Dogs that are eligible for adoption will be available for people to walk, brush and play with in the Picnic with the Pups play area.
There are currently 20 dogs available for adoption and they range in age, size, breed and energy level. Except for the very young puppies (eight weeks old and younger), all available dogs are leash trained, spayed/neutered, current on shots and tags, and socialized to be around both children and adults. Medium and small dogs are also socialized with other dogs and are house trained. People interested in being pre-approved for doggie sleepovers/adoption prior to their attending a Saturday Adopt-A-Thon, can print and fill out an application on PDR s website, or pick up an application from the information box at the entrance of the ranch. For the safety of adopted dogs, all prospective adopters must have a fenced yard/property and agree to a yard inspection, deemed appropriate for that dog, prior to adoption. Dogs available for adoption can also be viewed on their Website.
