Adopt cats six months and older in Kent for free this month

There are no tricks, just treats for prospective pet owners at Regional Animal Services of King County this month in Kent.

From now through Oct. 31, animal services is waiving the adoption fee for cats six months and older.

“You can’t put a price on love, and that’s really true at Regional Animal Services this month,” said Gene Mueller, manager of the Kent facility. “If you’ve been thinking about adopting a cat, this is a great time to do it.”

People can visit the Pet Adoption Center, 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Hours are 3-6 p.m. Monday, noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

People looking to adopt also can view available pets at www.kingcounty.gov/pets.

The adoption fee for cats older than six months is normally $55. The fee for kittens (younger than six months) will remain at $100. All cats and kittens from animal services are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and have tested negative for feline leukemia.

Adopters also receive a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet food for their new pet, as well as a certificate for a free veterinary wellness exam, courtesy of the Seattle/King County Veterinary Medical Association.
