Name your adoption price during ‘Empty the Shelter’ effort at Nevada Humane Society – Mostly Dogs

You’re encouraged to help Empty the Shelter at Nevada Humane Society by adopting a dog or a cat who is waiting for a loving, new home! Empty the Shelter is part of a three-month national pet adoption competition—the 2012 ASPCA $100K Challenge, in which Nevada Humane Society is one of 50 shelters nationwide competing for a grand prize of $100,000.

Throughout October, you can adopt an adorable dog or cat at the price you choose, therefore helping Nevada Humane Society to meet a goal of adopting 2,600 pets before October 31 for a chance to win $100,000 for homeless pets. Empty the Shelter and the $100K Challenge wrap up on October 31.

“When you adopt a pet this month you’re not only finding a new buddy, you’re also helping us potentially win the $100,000 Challenge. In order to win, we need to adopt 2,576 pets between August 1 and October 31. In this final month of the challenge we have an aggressive goal and we are really going to need the support of the community to achieve it,” said Diane Blankenburg, Development Director for Nevada Humane Society.
