There is a special cat in need of a special kind of home. Her name is Madeline, and she is as cute as a button.
Madeline is a cat with special needs that is available for adoption at P.A.T.C.H. in Pompton Lakes.
Madeline is one of the cats at the shelter known as Pet Adoption Through Caring Hands (P.A.T.C.H). She is 1 year old and has cerebral hypoplasia.
P.A.T.C.H. volunteer Diana Schlesinger said, “Cerebral hypoplasia is a condition where the brain becomes damaged in utero and the kitty is born a little wobbly and will always be so.”
Schlesinger said Madeline may be wobbly but she does not know she is and does all the things that cats do.
“We do have to be vigilant when she climbs on things and make sure she gets down safely,” she said.
This is not the first cat P.A.T.C.H. volunteers have cared for with cerebral hypoplasia. The other cat they named Tipsy, and she found a home. Schlesinger said the person who adopted Tipsy was perfect because she lived in an apartment that has no stairs.
