It’s been a hectic, busy, rewarding, and amazing few weeks at the SPCA of Texas following the arrival of pets from Hurricane Isaac amid several large cruelty confiscation cases.
According to the SPCA, “In just five days, (we) received 438 animals from emergency transfers and rescues, and all our spaces- even our conference rooms- were full.”
But that’s not where the story ends. Actually, far from it.
Texans stepped up with big hearts and helping hands from all corners of the state to pitch in, and offered support in every way imaginable.
“Children made dog treats and brought money from birthdays and lemonade stands. North Texans forwarded photos of adoptable animals to their friends, and they called to ask if they could do more.”
