The Kent County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Neverland Kennels partnered to find homes for eight chocolate Lab mix puppies along with other cats, kittens and dogs Aug. 16 on the grounds of the kennels near Lewes.
The eight-and-a-half-week old pups, along with their mother, were turned over to the KCSPCA and spent the first weeks of their lives with a foster family.
Within the first hour of the event, two puppies found homes. Eventually, two more chocolate mix pups were adopted along with a Chihuahua, a kitten, a Jack Russell Terrier pup and a pit bull mix puppy during the event. Four more of the Lab pups were later adopted by PetSmart in Dover.
Shown are (l-r) Josh and Jenna Morris from Frederica and KCSAPCA Executive Director Kevin Usilton with one of the first adopted Lab pups. The KCSPCA has 50 other dogs available for adoption and can be viewed at the shelter or on the KCSPCA website at www.kcspca.org.
