Denver hosts first annual disABLED pet rally 2012 – Examiner.com

This past Sunday, Denver Dog Sports hosted the first annual disABLED pet rally to benefit Nakio’s Underdog Rescue and raise awareness of disabled pets in the front range area. The event welcomed dogs of all sizes and abilities for a full day of socialization and fun for all. Activities included a trick demo by Angelyne the amazing deaf cattle dog, a fun agility match, and fashion show. Vendors were also on site to answer questions about how their products can help create the best quality of life for these special animals.

In recent years awareness of special needs dogs has increased largely due to advancements in veterinary medicine, a growing number of Internet communities, along with new products and services directly targeted this special segment of the dog population. Specialized products include: specialized carts, braces, and booties; while services range from physical therapy and conditioning, massage, acupuncture, and disabled dog friendly dog training.
