Pet adoption event on tap at local bank

Lincoln-Way Community Bank in New Lenox and its employees are passionate about animal rescue and are excited to host an annual pet adoption event.

The event is all about bringing awareness to pet adoption and the importance of animal rescue.

Nearly one dozen rescue organizations are expected to attend. Alongside the rescue groups will be Silver Cross Hospital and some of the dogs from its pet therapy program.

Organizations attending include All Herding Breed Rescue, Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue, Grahamville Rescue and Sanctuary, Japanese Chin Care & Rescue, Making a Difference Animal Rescue, Midwest Dachshund Rescue, National Animal Welfare Society, New Beginnings Cat Shelter, PAWS of Tinley Park, Safely Home Canine Rescue.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the bank, 1000 E. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox.

Heartland Blood Center will have its mobile coach on site so attendees can make a lifesaving blood donation.
