LAS CRUCES — The Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley, 3551 Bataan Memorial West, will conduct adoptions of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Also, adoptions will be from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday at the farmers market downtown. Dogs available for adoption will be at the north end of Main Street. Cats can be adopted from the offices of the Center for Spiritual Living, 575 N. Main St., across the street from the site where dog adoptions will take place.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, adoptions will be conducted at PetCo, 3050 E. Lohman Ave.
Adoption fees are typically $75 for dogs and puppies, and $50 for cats and kittens. The fee includes the first set of vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip.
At the PetCo event, microchipping for pets that already have homes will be available for $20, and city pet licenses will be available for neutered pets for $5 each. Licenses for un-neutered pets are $25 each. Proof of spay or neuter is required before a $5 license will be issued.
Pet owners also must bring current proof of rabies vaccination for each animal to be licensed.
Daily cat adoptions are available at PetCo, 3050 E. Lohman, and at Pet's Barn, 1600 S. Valley Drive.
