Shelter offering two cats for price of one at Catapalooza – jdnews.com

Onslow County Animal Services is offering two cats for the price of one at this weekend’s inaugural Catapalooza event.

The cat adoption party, set for Friday from noon to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., is for the whole family with children’s activities, cat care demonstrations, pet information and more.

During the event, residents will be able to adopt two cats for the single adoption fee of $50.

“Felines usually breed during the spring and summer months,” said Alan Davis, director for Onslow County Animal Services. “So it is not unusual for us to receive a high number of mother cats and kittens during this time of year.”

Davis said the goal of the event is to find loving homes for as many kittens and cats as possible.

The adoption fee for both cats includes a health exam, vaccinations and spaying or neutering. There is a 14-day return policy on all adopted pets. However, if a family chooses to return one of the adopted cats, they will not receive a refund unless both cats are returned.

Animal Services will also have dog adoption specials, as well.

Onslow County Animal Services is located at 244 Georgetown Road in Jacksonville. The shelter is open to the public for pet adoptions from noon to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

Adopters can usually take their new pet home the same day. Payment methods include cash and credit card.
