Throughout August, adopt a Lucky Pet at Nevada Humane Society and go home a winner! From August 1 – August 31, pet adoption fees are just $7 for adult cats (over 4 months) and $21 for adult dogs (over 4 months). All adopters win a free dinner to the Island Buffet, named Reno’s largest variety buffet, at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, and can roll the dice for the chance to win a luxurious Stay-Cation at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. The Stay-Cation includes a one-night stay in the Tuscany Tower Suite, a $100 dining pass to any of the Peppermill restaurants, and two Day Passes to Spa Toscana.
When you adopt a Lucky Pet, you’ll also be helping Nevada Humane Society find homes for nine-hundred lucky pets in August as part of a national pet adoption competition—the 2012 ASPCA $100K Challenge, a competition for animal shelters (and their communities) aiming to get more animals adopted than ever before. Nevada Humane Society is one of 50 contestants competing for more than $500,000 in prizes, including a grand prize of $100,000.
“The Lucky Pet Adoption Promotion is a great way to kick off the $100K Challenge and help connect beautiful cats and dogs with the right families. By working together, we can save hundreds of animals, enrich the lives of new adopting families, and of course, we’ll have a shot at the $100,000 prize,” said Diane Blankenburg, Community Programs Director of Nevada Humane Society. “It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
Pet adoptions have been down slightly this summer so people are encouraged to come in and take advantage of this great deal in August. All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. These services would normally cost over $200.
If you can open your heart and home to a pet, please visit Nevada Humane Society located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno. The shelter is open Sunday through Friday from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm. For more information on adopting a pet, please call 775-856-2000, ext. 302.
