The Dog Daze of Summer art exhibit, featuring dog paintings by Louis Mason, continues through Saturday at Jane Hamilton Fine Art, 2890 E. Skyline Drive.
The dog-adoption event that was part of Friday’s opening reception for the show is over, but there are other opportunities to pick up a pooch from The Humane Society of Southern Arizona, and they don’t involve going to the Humane Society.
The nonprofit runs two stores/adoption centers – one at La Encantada and another at Park Place – both open seven days a week.
The Pawsh Adoption Center at Park Place, 5870 E. Broadway, is in the breezeway north of the entrance to Dillard’s, near the covered parking. The phone number is 321-3704, Ext. 133.
The Pawsh Adoption Center at La Encantada is in Suite 208 upstairs at the mall, 2905 E. Skyline Drive. The phone number is 327-6088, Ext. 154.
For more information, including Pawsh hours, go to www.hssaz.org online and click on “Shopping,” then “Adoption Centers.”
In the meantime, if you’re interested in seeing the dog paintings by Mason at Jane Hamilton Fine Art, the show runs through Saturday. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Saturday and its phone number is 529-4886.
