Two recent animal hoarding situations have filled Animal Allies Humane Society to capacity with cats and kittens.
In order to maintain the goal of zero euthanasia of healthy pets in the Twin Ports, immediate cat and kitten adopters are needed.
Standard cat adoption fees, which can range from $25-$75 at Animal Allies, rarely, if ever, cover the costs to prepare an animal for adoption.
But, thanks to generous financial support from maurices, Animal Allies Humane Society is able to reduce all feline adoption fees (including kittens) to just $5 through August 31st.
Staff and volunteers are working hard to examine, treat, and care for the rescued cats which will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for parasites, and micro chipped prior to adoption.
Animal Allies Humane Society has adoption centers in both Duluth, located at 4006 Airport Road, and in Superior, located at 2225 Hill Avenue.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from Noon to 6:00 p.m. Animals available for adoption can be viewed online at www.animalallies.net.
