Time to adopt a cat, help a dog and ‘Spring a Buddy’ : Quad-City Times

The Humane Society of Scott County has several opportunities for people to help their four-legged friends.

Some of the programs and developments coming out of the organization include:

‘Spring a Buddy’ is extended

Families who adopt a dog or cat from the Humane Society of Scott County through June 30 will receive a bag of goodies to Spring a Buddy from the Shelter.

Sponsored by the Riverboat Development Authority, the pet family starter kits for dogs will include a red bag donated by Nestle Purina, custom food bowl and scoop, free first health exam provided by Scott County Animal Hospital, specialty treats from Happy Dog Bakery, a welcome home toy and a pet care tips sheet. The adoption fee for dogs is $81 and $70 for cats. The shelter is open Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Adoptions must be completed 30 minutes before the shelter closes for the day.
