KMPS Chihuahua Race: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, Kent Station on Ramsay Way, Kent. The little dogs will be showing off their running skills. Top three winners will earn prizes.
Paws and Pours: 6-8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 3, Wine World Ballroom, 440 N.E. 45th St., Seattle. Wine-tasting event supports the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation. $35.
Puyallup Pups & Purrs: Noon-3 p.m. Sunday, May 6, PetSmart, 10309 156th St. E., Puyallup. More than 100 dogs and cats are expected to be at this adoption event co-hosted by Puyallup Animal Rescue and Animal Alliance of WA.
Fabulous Felines: Noon-3-p.m. Saturday, May 12, Mirabella Seattle, 116 Fairview Ave. N., Seattle. Senior cats will be featured in this adoption event organized by Seattle Animal Shelter volunteers.
Whiskers, Wings & Wagging Tails: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, Redmond Senior Center, 8703 160th Ave., Redmond. Pet adoption fair co-hosted by the City of Redmond and Animal Alliance of WA is slated to include animals from N.O.A.H., MEOW Cat Rescue, Regional Animal Service of King County, Oasis for Animals and Motley Zoo. Adoption fees range from $150-$250 for dogs and $75-$120 for cats. The event also offers vendors, information booths and demonstrations of dogs sports.
Wags & Whiskers: Noon-3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, Snohomish Station Animal Hospital, 2705 Bickford Ave., Building 5, Suite A, Snohomish. A pet adoption event and block party featuring Second Chance Dog Rescue. About 100 animals from several shelters and organizations are expected to be at the event, which also includes food and prizes.
Tuxes & Tails: 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, Hyatt Regency Bellevue, 900 Bellevue Way N.E., Bellevue. Petpalooza: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 19, Game Farm Park, 3030 R St. S.E., Auburn. This free event celebrates dogs and other pets. Go early to join the Dog Trot 3K and 5K at 9:30 a.m. There will be a pet parade (noon), animal-related entertainment, petting zoo, Skyhoundz Disc Dog Championships, demonstrations of dog sports, pony rides, pet contests, vendors and giveaways.
