The Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital is helping homeless cats find new owners.
The animal hospital has joined with Purrfect Feline Friends, a nationwide nonprofit cat adoption center, to save homeless cats from being euthanized.
Cats that are available for adoption from the hospital are featured on the Purrfect Feline Friends website —

People interested in adopting a cat also can visit the Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital, at 9436B Waynesboro Pike in Emmitsburg.
The hospital is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
“We are trying to find a way to help,” said Jamie Swinehart, a technician at the hospital. “We want to find any way we can to help out.”
There is one cat at the hospital available for adoption — a black-and-white shorthair named Sylvester. He is 11 months old and neutered.
“He’s good with everybody, Swinehart said. “He loves cats, dogs and people.”
