Nature’s Feed hosts fundraiser – Northwest Herald

Nature’s Feed, 2440 Westward Drive in Spring Grove, will be hosting its monthly Community Day Pet Adoption Event from from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (April 7) and a nail-clipping fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21.

The latter will benefit Helping Paws in Woodstock, Pets in Need in Ringwood and the Spring Grove Police Department’s service dog – a German shepherd named Hunter. The department hopes to raise $1,000 to buy their police dog a bulletproof vest, store owner Dorothy Vetrovec said.

The adoption day, hosted every other month, will feature local nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of animals and people. Dogs and cats will be available for adoptions, and there will be specials on NutriLife food. For information, visit www.naturesfeed.net or call 815-675-2008.

“I’ve always believed that you have to give back,” Vetrovec said. “I think that is why we’ve been really successful. We’re not just opening our door and saying ‘Hey, buy this product from me.’ I try and inspire as much awareness as I can for pets.”
