Finding forever homes a priority – NiagaraThisWeek

The Niagara Falls Humane Society treats all animals with the care, respect and compassion they deserve. Finding loving, responsible forever families for animals in need is always our priority. If you have been following Homeward Bound for awhile, you’ll notice that this column has had great success in helping to find forever families for animals in need. Little Mickey, from last week’s column, found a happy home a few days ago! Thank you!

All shelter animals have had a health check by the shelter’s vet technicians, they are spayed or neutered, have had a rabies vaccine, are microchipped and come with six weeks of free pet insurance. All shelter dogs have the opportunity to spend time with trained volunteers, and each has an individualized training program.

We’re so fortunate to be able to offer several options for cat adoption in the community. As well as having our adoption room at the shelter, we have outlets at Paulmac’s, PetValu and Global Pets where shelter cats can be adopted. Our Cat Adoption Centre at the mall always has many cats looking for forever homes, and is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable volunteers.
