AnimalSave’s thrift store celebrates 13 years – TheUnion.com

AnimalSave Thrift and Treasures, located at 520 East Main St., Grass Valley opened in 1999.

Proceeds from the store provide a portion of the funding AnimalSave needs to fulfill its mission to transform the lives of cats and dogs by providing humane education, affordable spay and neuter services and finding loving homes. We envision a time when all animals are treated with honor and respect.

Through the resale of generous donations of clothing, accessories, books, jewelry, household items and furniture, AnimalSave’s Thrift and Treasures store generates income to cover a portion of the cost of operating important programs that provide a huge community service. Since AnimalSave’s Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic began in 2008, 6,500 dogs and cats have been altered.

This work has reduced the number of homeless dogs and cats in our community. Through the Foster/Adoption Program, AnimalSave rescues and finds loving homes for over 350 dogs and cats each year. The Low-Income Pet Food Assistance Program has provided over 100,000 pounds of dog and cat food since 2008.

By shopping at the Thrift and Treasures Store, you can support local enterprise, find great bargains, save gas and help AnimalSave help the animals. Our regular and dedicated clientele find daily sales on specific items Monday through Saturday. The most popular sale happens the first Friday and Saturday of each month with 50 percent off everything except consignment items.

Join us 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10 for an open house to celebrate AnimalSave Thrift and Treasures’ 13 years in the community.
