Pet adoption center at mall will benefit shelter animals – APP.com

I was so pleased to read the Feb. 24 article, “SPCA opening adoption center at Freehold Raceway Mall.”

I had one of those “aha” moments where I couldn’t believe this hadn’t been done before. What a fantastic idea. The last thing we need is pet stores at malls where puppies are purchased from horrendous conditions at puppy mills.

Now, families can shop in a retail environment, and the shelter animals will have enormous exposure and a better chance of being adopted.

Kudos to Macerich, the mall’s owner. I, for one, will make sure I do all my shopping at this mall from now on.

Kudos also to the SPCA’s executive director for immediately jumping on this wonderful opportunity.
