Erin go bragh … and bark, too — at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter’s adoption event on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
On March 18, the shelter will host a “St. Pittie’s Day” event from 2 to 4 p.m. to promote adoption of the shelter’s cats and dogs. Adoption fees will be waived, and a free Irish-themed brunch will be available for visitors to the shelter.
Town Supervisor Mark Lesko said the shelter’s themed adoption events have been successful.
“Anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat should go to this event and bring a loving companion animal home with them,” he said in a release.
“Once again, the animal shelter is providing our residents the opportunity to find their new best friend at a great event. I encourage everyone interested to stop by, enjoy the brunch, and walk away with a new furry friend,” said councilwoman Jane Bonner, the town board’s liaison to the animal shelter.
Residents who adopt a pet at the St. Pittie’s Day event will receive a “Pot O’ Love” gift bag with pet treats. The event will also feature trainers, groomers and veterinarians on hand.
The shelter is located at 300 Horseblock Rd. in Brookhaven. For more information, call 631-286-4940 or visit www.brookhaven.org/animalshelter.
