“Love Me Because … ” Adoption event focuses on hard-to-place animals

Terra Muscat was an active volunteer at the Wyandotte Animal Shelter and a pet foster volunteer when she began to realize that certain animals just weren’t being adopted.

The “hard to adopt” animals had health concerns, were overweight or older, had been in the shelter or a foster home for more than six months or had personality issues that some might not find desirable.

Muscat and other members of PAWS of Michigan animal rescue decided to hold an adoption event to highlight animals that are so often overlooked.

“It was originally going to be called ‘Love Me Despite’ whatever problem the animal might have,” Muscat said.
