More of you will be unwrapping a kitten or puppy this Christmas. The Home for the Holidays pet adoption campaign was a successful one in December.
Lorie Chortyk with the SPCA says well over one thousand pets in the province have new owners care of them. With a lofty goal this year, she’s taking a glass is half full view.
“The number of animals that have been adopted so far is definitely higher than it was last year. It’s not realistic to think that we are going to find homes for 4,000 animals, that just doesn’t happen.”
She says most of the homes are in the Lower Mainland.
