The Irvine Animal Care Center hosted its 5th annual Home for the Holidays pet adoption fair Saturday, featuring more than 400 animals from German shepherds to tabby cats.More than 100 groups, mostly representing animal rescue and animal shelters, dotted the 3.7-acre grounds.
Pets of all shapes and sizes were represented during the Home for the Holidays pet fair Saturday in Irvine.
“We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful shelter and such a supportive, great community here. Our heart is here with the work we do,” center director Ron Edwards said.More than 250 volunteers and 40 employees helped the adoptions move smoothly, including Lisa Cook, who volunteered for the fifth time “My company is right across the street and I love to volunteer when I can. It’s a lot of fun at this shelter and it’s great to see all these animals going home with a family.”
