New mobile adoption van to debut at Prince William County animal shelter’s open house Saturday – InsideNova

When Santa Claus rolls into the Prince William County Animal Shelter’s parking lot during the annual holiday open house Saturday, he’ll be in a new ride.

Santa will be there to help unveil the new P.A.W. Express mobile pet adoption van, purchased by the Prince William SPCA with a $154,565 grant from the PETCO Foundation.

The van, which is equipped to carry about 26 animals, arrived at the Prince William County animal shelter in November, but will make its public debut Saturday.

The van is lined with cages for dogs and cats, and a roll-up awning that will allow potential adopters to see the animals from the outside.

There’s also room inside for visitors to walk through and view animals, and a small table where adopters can fill out applications and other paperwork.
