The Hempstead Town Animal Shelter is offering free pet adoptions until Jan. 15 during the run of its Home for the Holidays Pet Adoption Program.
All pet adoption fees will be waived during the program to help give residents an opportunity to welcome a cat or dog into their homes. Free rabies vaccinations and microchipping, as well as free spaying and neutering services, will be offered, town officials said.
“Spread holiday cheer by giving a cuddly cat or dog the present of a lifetime … a loving home,” Town Supervisor Kate Murray said in a statement. “When you adopt a pet from our shelter … you can give the gift of love for free.”
