Queens Offers Many Pet Adoption Options – www.qgazette.com

With cold months ahead, the number of stray and abandoned animals is growing. There are many shelters and adoption centers available in Queens for those looking to adopt a new pet in need of a warm home.

Bobbi & the Strays, a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue center, has been providing these services to both animals and residents of Queens since 1998. The organization rescues cats and dogs from the streets, abusive situations and euthanasia.

The adoption center is currently located at The Shops in Atlas Park, 71-03 80th St. in Glendale and will be moving to a new location in Freeport at 2 Rider Place, for which they are currently taking donations in order to complete renovations. The shelter and adoption centers run with the help of volunteers; information on volunteering or adopting can be obtained by visiting the locations or their Web site at www.bobbiandthestrays.org.
