Many shelters are seeing more pets brought in by their owners in need of a new home, because they just can’t afford to raise the animals.
The Idaho Humane Society is working with Petsmart Charities, hoping to bring in a new audience for pet adoption. The adoption center inside Petsmart made its grand opening this weekend to make homeless pets more accessible to the public.
The Idaho Humane Society says it hopes to bring in a new breed of pet owners, who can afford to own pets. Many shelters say since 2008, more families are coming in to give away their pets because of financial issues.
