Lucky dogs find a loving family – Gladstone Observer

THERE were cute puppies of every size, breed and colour at the RSPCA in Gladstone yesterday.

It was Dog Adoption Day and the Friends of the RSPCA had their sleeves rolled up to do what they do best – care for the welfare of our region’s would-be pets.

Friends of the RSPCA holds a Dog Adoption Day once a month and yesterday the team had 35 dogs up for adoption.

Judy Whicker, president of Friends of the RSPCA, said the day was important because for every dog that was adopted, a foster carer was freed up to accept another dog from the pound.

By 10.30am yesterday, Ms Whicker said the Dog Adoption Day was going well, with 10 dogs already adopted.
