Humane Society Waiving Cat Adoption Fees – Nashua, NH Patch

Cute, cuddly and free?

That’s right, throughout the rest of the month, cats at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua who are 1 year old or older are being adopted out for free, as the shelter has found itself overrun by feline friends.

According to Laurie Dufault, spokeswoman for the Humane Society, the shelter is fluctuating between 120-140 cats daily and has another 72 kittens in foster homes that will soon be ready for adoption as well. For a shelter that can comfortably handle fewer than 100 cats, this kind of crowding becomes stressful for these pets, Dufault said.
