Shelby County Humane Society increases save rate – Alabama’s 13

The Shelby County Humane Society has seen a 10 percent increase during the second quarter of 2011, in the “save rate” of animals that leave their care.

Shelby County Humane Society Executive Director, Jenny Miller said the various pet adoption events, and an animal shelter transfer program is to credit, for saving the lives of Shelby counties furry friends.

Jenny Miller said, “They didn’t do anything to deserve to be here. Most of the times they are just a victim of the bad economy, of divorce, of people having to move, of people who have lost their jobs.”
