Because October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog month, the Northshire Bookstore, in partnership with Second Chance Animal Center, is hosting five authors writing about the cherished bond between humans and animals.
The second author in the series, Spencer Quinn, will be presenting the fourth book in his mystery series, “A Chet and Bernie Mystery: The Dog Who Knew Too Much.”
Representatives from Second Chance will be present to answer any questions about the center and animal adoption.
The New York Times bestselling mystery series features a canine narrator, Chet, and his human companion Bernie.
The next author in the series, Laura Numeroff will present her latest book, “If You Give a Dog a Donut,” on Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.
Quinn, the pen name of Peter Abrahams for the Chet and Bernie series, will be at the store on Saturday at 7 p.m. For more information on this and other events, call the bookstore at 362-2200 or 800-437-3700, or visit the store’s website at www.northshire.com.
