Nearly 100 runners ‘bruisin’ for Bob’ to help dogs in need of home

On Saturday, 100 runners crawled through the mud and jumped over a dozen obstacles to help out their four-legged friends.

It was all part of the “Bruisin’ for Bob’s House” event.

WEAU’s Meghan Kulig was the emcee for the event which raises money for Bob’s House for Dogs, a dog adoption center for dogs in need of a home.

Organizers say up to 100 runners dashed through the 5k adventure course, jumping over 18 obstacles, including crawling through a mud pit and sliding over a slip and slide.

Event organizer Travis Quella says animals can’t speak for themselves and people need to protect them.

“The dogs we take at Bob’s House have a rough past through abuse or mistreatment and when they come to Bob’s House, they come to a very at-home environment and they stay there until they’re adopted,” says Quella.

WEAU was a sponsor of the event.
