Cat Adoption Team honors its top volunteers –

The Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood recently honored its most dedicated volunteers at an end-of-summer picnic this past Sunday.

Steve Brod of Tigard took top honors for the “Evan Kalik” Volunteer of the Year Award. Brod provides cat care for the shelter felines, helps find homes for them as an adoption counselor and represents the organization at local events. The award is named in honor of CAT’s founder.

Aisha Beck of Tigard and Noralyn Danielle of Tualatin came home with Volunteer and Staff Choice awards, voted on by volunteers and CAT staffers. They work as a team at CAT’s adoption center at the Tualatin Petco to care for the cats and provide adoption counseling and volunteer training. Beck also serves as the organization’s videographer.

Beaverton resident Jerry Holmes won the Lifetime Achievement Award for helping out at nearly every CAT special event or adoption event. A volunteer for more than six years, he arrives early to set up and stays late to help clean up and unload at the shelter.
