Cat ‘Adoption Day’ and ‘Pet Expo’ converge at Trenton’s Waterfront Park – NewJerseyNewsroom.com

Think of Mercer County’s Waterfront Park and you’d probably think of Trenton Thunder baseball games. But next Saturday, September 24, the park will be all about pets.

Outside the park, area animal rescue groups and shelters will bring pets looking for loving homes. One such group, Trenton TNR (Trap – Neuter — Return), is sponsoring “Adoption Day” for cats and kittens from the Trenton Animal Shelter, which like most others right now is badly overcrowded.

This time of year could be called “high kitten season,” when un-neutered domestic and feral cats alike have been reproducing since early spring. The result: staggering numbers of cats and kittens up for adoption.
