Local Shelters Report Increase in Cat Adoptions – Palm Desert, CA Patch

Cats were adopted from Riverside County Animal Services’ shelters in August at a rate nearly three times higher as the same month in 2010.

Figures released today show 425 cats were adopted from the three county shelters in August 2011, compared with 165 a year earlier.

County Animal Services Director Robert Miller says the increase is partially due to the county’s “Five-Dollar Fuzz Ball” promotion, where cat adoption fees were lowered in August.
