A unique adoption program is bringing seniors together, senior citizens and senior dogs, that is.
Senior-to-Senior matches Brittany dogs aged eight years and older with someone who is 60 or older.
The program is part of the national organization American Brittany Rescue, which works to give homes to all Brittany dogs free of cost.
American Brittany Rescue volunteer Jackie Albers says the program gives an unwanted dog a home and their new owner a companion.
“To us, no dog is worthless, certainly not a Brittany that’s eight years old. That’s the prime of their life. They have so much to offer. So it’s a no-brainer to take them in.”
