Tempe Rally to Rescue gives abandoned pets a chance

Four Jack Russell puppies are getting settled in their new homes this week after being adopted Saturday at a rally that brought together animal-rescue groups from across Arizona.

The adoption was made possible through the Purina Pro Plan Rally to Rescue Tour.

The rally stopped at Arizona Mills in Tempe as part of an eight-city tour aimed at securing homes for 500,000 abandoned pets by year’s end. The tour started five years ago, and each year organizers have found homes for about 100,000 animals.
